Studio rehearsal: Glory
Choreographed by Andonis Foniadakis and danced by Ballet du Grand Theatre de Geneve.
Music by George Frederic Handel.
Ballet meets modern/contemporary dance. A beautifully executed ballet performance with the emotion and rich magery of modern.
I love how the choreography seems to “cut through” the music in rapid contrast to the music’s tempo while at the same time the music is the perfect accompaniment. And the energy of the dancers? A consistent, continuous flow.
Glory is nothing of the “ordinary.” It’s uplifting and vibrant with its own distinct movement language.
The delightfully Baroque performance by this Swiss company offers the perfect interaction between dance and music. You hardly see this as a studio rehearsal since as such it’s so much a joy. I hope you’ll choose to like then share it with others.
