Held outdoors in the West Kowloon Cultural District, this multimedia dance extravaganza, Journey to the West, uses contemporary aerial, near hallucinatory movement. The resulting effect is very similar to Cirque du Soleil…dramatic, theatrical, and wholly entertaining.
Directed by Hong Kong choreographer Daniel Yeung, the audience was given an experience to remember.
WKCD, the West Kowloon Cultural District, is the largest arts and cultural project in Hong Kong. Its purpose is to encourage and support cultural and entertainment venues throughout Hong Kong. A new museum will feature visual and performance halls and a variety of theaters. The project began in 2013 and will be developed in two phases.
