Founded by Walmart heiress Nancy Laurie, Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet was initially seen as a short-lived project whose founder would soon grow weary of her involvement. But nothing could have been further from the truth. Not only did Laurie hire dancers and a director, but she bought photographer Annie Leibowitz’s studios, transforming them into office and rehearsal space and a much envied black box theater.
Over the years that followed Cedar Lake quietly grew and developed, eventually becoming the company we so admire today.
I hope you enjoy the video excerpts from this much-loved company and that you’ll like and share them with others who will enjoy them as well.
